What is the story behind CEO Positions?
I have witnessed many 'interesting situations' in high-level events with CEOs. In one case, the CEO was completely over-consulted. He followed every piece of advice: from his board, legal, investor relations, compliance, outsiders, and lawyers. When I arrived, a video had been produced for 420'000 CHF that was never aired. It contained a message from the CEO to the public in a difficult matter. In the end, nothing came of it, neither direct nor online communication. The CEO was forced to leave the company some time after. I think this was the trigger for CEO Positions: CxOs need to speak out to survive in today's environment.
What is CEO Positions about?
On average, only 24% of stakeholders have an idea of your strategy. Terrible! We bring the missing 76% of stakeholders on board. In close co-operation with the CxO's event/communications/marketing team.
How do you position a CxO?
We recommend personal statements - live or via online video. We love video. We want CxOs to take the stage.
What is your USP?
1.) We know CEOs and their needs, we have corporate backgrounds.
2.) We are one-stop-shopping for CxO strategic events.
3.) We are creative and think out of the box.
3.) We are the pioneers in social media for CxOs and have trademarked the CEO online video as Positioning Interview (TM) back in 2006.
Shouldn't this be done in-house? Why you?
Companies we work with are large corporations. They all have in-house event departments. It's not as if they can't do events with their own resources. But for one reason or another they choose to go outside their typical way of thinking. Perhaps on some level they're not capable of seeing things in a different way? They're looking for answers they're having trouble with and they're also having difficulty expressing their questions. That's where we come in.
So we have 2 functions:
a) We are like a mirror. We reflect the outside perspective.
b) We drive projects forward. Most inhouse-staff is overworked. We get it done.
What is your most important lesson learned?
„I have been working both in media, analysis as well as on the corporate side of CEO communications for the past 20 years. The single most important lesson I have learned is that successful CEOs “speak out”. At CEO Positions we support CEOs in their quest for authenticity with the most advanced technology available for mass audiences today.“ (Susanne in February 2006, see video)
Is there something that you don't do?
Yes! We cannot do anything outside our four industries: high-tech, finance, health, energy. We are no strategy consultants, we do not work in product communication.
Are you an agency?
I would say that we are an agency for strategic C-level events, including a very skilled CEO video department. Our claim is "Your position matters." I firmly believe in it.
Your position matters.
